Led Bike Lights: Illuminate Your Biking Adventures Right

A lot of us love riding our bikes at night, however, there are several things one has to consider as to ensure a safe ride. Since night time comes with deficiency of light, the first and most obvious concern would be exactly that – providing sufficient illumination. Aussies know that apart from their own preferences, they must pay attention to the specific road rules which are only there for everyone’s benefit. We cannot expect a safe ride if we’re not well prepared. Only then when you have taken care of the basic road responsibilities can you give yourself the right to be called a real biker.

Now, back to our preferences. When it comes to ensuring great night vision, LED bike lights are much better than standard types of lighting. They offer much more illumination, last longer, are very eco-friendly and cause little to no light pollution.

Once you’re certain that you want to get bike lights and if you decide to opt for LED, the next thing you should look at are the lumens. Lumens are the unit with which we measure the brightness. There are lighting options with only a couple of hundred lumens and then there are the ones that go up to a thousand, or even more. Opting for LED bike lights that have a lumen output of a few thousand is probably the best choice. They may be more expensive than the rest, but at least you get a peace of mind and you’ll know that you’re safe. It’s always better to invest in more, because in the long run, if you don’t opt for quality and durability, you’ll end up paying much more – you’ll be bound to change your lights soon, plus, you’ll never feel safe enough.

The next thing to consider in LED bike lights is the kind of batteries you want to power them with. There are the standard and disposable alkaline batteries, but, most lights these days have built in Li-Ion or Li-Po batteries. Their size, weight and high power makes them the perfect thing for the needs of a biker. They usually use a USB cable for charging, but some feature a built-in USB connector.

All of this info can also be implemented when choosing backlight, except for the lumen output – you won’t need that much illumination backt here. Always look for quality in LED bike lights, and remember to bike responsibly.
